Phoebe Bognár is an Australian-born flutist, performer, and composer, based in Basel, Switzerland. Her approach to creativity is sewn with vibrancy and fluidity and explores a broad spectrum of artistic entities, mediums, and styles. 

She is passionate about collaborations across genres, art forms and disciplines, and delving into new and exciting modes of creative expression. The use of various flutes, voice, language, gesture, theatre, improvisation, electronics, visuals, and activism are central to her creative practice and projects.

Phoebe has appeared in renowned venues including the Berlin Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie, KKL Luzern, Alte Oper Frankfurt, and Philharmonie Warsaw and performed with acclaimed ensembles and orchestras such as Ensemble Modern, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Recherche, Ensemble SCOPE, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, Cantando Admont and the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra.

She has performed in a wide range of festivals and events, notably Lucerne Festival, Zeiträume Festival (CH); Berliner Festspiel, Ultraschall Berlin, Acht Brücken Köln (DE); Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK); Warsaw Autumn (PL); Gaudeamus Festival (NL); Ultima Contemporary Music Festival (NO); Rainy Days Festival (LU); Göteborg Arts Sounds Festival (SE); Time of Music Festival (FI); Sydney Festival und Queensland Music Festival (AU).

Her current projects include ongoing collaborations with composers Anna Sowa and Zara Ali; her performative duo iipm project with Mikołaj Rytowski where they collaborate on new works, and installations and interpret existing pieces; and press.any.key with Manca Dornik, a flute and accordion duo combining instruments with performative elements, composition and interpretation.

Through art, Phoebe endeavours to weave new connections and understandings– to each other and the world we live in.
