Mélusine Chappuis is a Swiss musician, pianist and composer based in Bern. She first learned classical music and then switched to jazz. This musical background has a strong influence on her playing and her approach to music. She obtained a bachelor and a master degree at the Hochschule der Künste Bern studying with Colin Vallon, Stefan Aeby, Patrice Moret, Manuel Bärtsch and many others.

Currently she is mostly performing with the progressive jazz band ARBRE, alongside Paul Butscher on flugelhorn and Xavier Almeida on drums, where she combines Fender Rhodes, electronics and synthesizer. She is also working on her solo project, where she fully explores the acoustic piano with various preparations.

Parallel to her artistic projects, she teaches jazz piano at the Conservatoire de musique neuchâtelois and conducts various workshops for the feminist association Helvetiarockt.
