My name is Lily Lord, I live in Bern and I'm a budding session guitarist. I have been studying electric guitar at WIAM since February 25 with the aim of professionalising myself as a guitarist. It's not easy but I work hard and practise a lot. I would say I am still at the beginning, although I have already learnt so much. I have a flair for exciting improvisation rhythms, playing techniques in rock, (jazz) fusion and blues and for songwriting. I am the front woman of the band BIRDLORD and write most of the songs + lyrics for the band. I have more song ideas than we have time to look at. I've recently started playing bass in a band workshop which really enriches my understanding as an instrumentalist and I really enjoy playing the four-piece too. I could well imagine playing bass in a project. My favourite guitarists are: Lari Basilio, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Steve Ray Vaughan, Greg Howe, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Bonamassa and Paco de Lucía (flamenco guitar). Here I am looking for exciting and challenging projects. Challenging does not necessarily mean the most complex songs or crazy rhythm changes all the time (but it can be if someone has such a project hehe) but can also be in the form of a very large set with a lot of songs, a style of music that I don't know yet, if I have to do backing vocals, read lead sheets that are NOT tabs, play together with other musicians that I don't know well yet or even with other instruments with which I have no experience yet.
