Swiss Singer, guitarist, songwriter/composer Eliane Amherd is based in NYC. She plays her original mix of Jazz, Brazilian, Latin, African Music and Retro Pop in New York’s premiere clubs and has toured all over the world: North- and South America, Canada, Europe and Asia, where she appeared in international Festivals in China, Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar, Malaysia, Nepal, Mongolia etc.
A graduate of NYC's New School University for Jazz and Contemporary Music, she composed, arranged and produced her albums “Skylines” and “Now and from Now on” which continue to receive great press reviews and have topped the play lists of several US Radio Stations, as well as the Swiss Miss Sampler “heimweh”, featuring renown Swiss artists. This successful album has earned her many interviews on Switzerland’s radio and TV stations. In 2013 she was a candidate of the first edition of "the Voice of Switzerland” and in 2017 she was the runner up for "best Singer Songwriter in Switzerland" at the Montreux Jazz Festival. She plays guitar in several NYC bands and collaborated with greats such as Marcus Strickland, Bill Ware, Marc Ribot, Hagar Ben Ari, Randy Brecker etc. For 10 years she was the musical director of the "Frauenstimmen Festival" in her home town Brig, featuring female acts. In 2015 she was the musical director of the "OrchExtra Gottardo" at the World Expo Milano, Italy and 2010 she was the first recipient of the Musik Pro award from the canton Valais, Switzerland.
