First female Rap artist in the city of Berne and Biel/Bienne (Switzerland) since 1988. I am born in Fribourg in 1972. My music skills are influenced by my adoptive father (RIP) – a solo music entertainer.
All rhymes are written in english by my self and spiced with arabic or spanish expressions, few texts are in french, dutch, spanish or bernese – the local language. I always rhyme about social or cultural phenomenas and consider myself as a conscious rapper.
I started as a solo performer at privat, little neighbourhood- and village parties in Berne and surroundings. Due to sexism in the average local music scene I realised my rap career in Biel/Bienne. 1989-1991 with "Cut the Rock" (CDR) in Biel/Bienne, 1991- 2001 Iwith the p-funk orientated live band "SalmonellaQ" (Biel/Bienne). We did over 150 gigs nationwide: Frison, Dolce Vita, Palais X- tra, Atlantis, Coupole Biel/Bienne, Dampfzentrale and Gaskessel Bern, Kiff Aarau, Unifest Basel, Podring, Chandolin, Horizont- festival Lausanne, ….. Besides live TV- and radio shows, we produced tape-, CD-, and vinyl productions and a video. Our first TV Show in 1992 was a gig at the „touche pas mon pote“ festival, an anti- racist event at the FRISON in Fribourg wich was broadcasted live by the Swiss national television (SF). In 1996 the song „move some“ was set on the daily play list of the radio channels DRS3 and Couleur3 and in 1999 the video „kill the dj“ by Karim Patwa has been shown at the Locarno film festival, toured after on several international film festivals and was on the playlist of MTV, VIVA swiss, SF DRS and StarTV.
At this time I also focussed on solo- side projects on the „BN“ compilation, wich was edited by the Zytglogge Verlag in Bern and I never stopped to freestyle, i.e. with Naughty by Nature.
2001 I started my solo CD-project "Carrie's delay“ in Berne > supported by KulturStadtBern, Migroskulturprozent and SEVA Fonds de loterie de canton de Berne. The songs matrix (e) & cafar (f) won the gold medal in the category Rap&R'nB among 1500 competitors at the international Benelux SongExpo Festival in Holland. Still in Berne, I never got happy with a band plus during university I had no time to practice. Lately I started to do little music-, art-, and cultural projects in own production and made an excursion to spit on house songs > see "Caquette Cucaracha" (I criticize colonialism and sexism in the underground)
